SAVANTS RESURRECTION BEGINS HERE... DON'T MISS THIS SHOW!!!
Label: Independent in the works. SAVANT Resurrection
Label Type: indie
About: Hailing from Tucson Arizona, Savant began performing their (all original) progressive style rock/metal in the early 1980s. Brothers Sean and Joel Timmerman (guitars), Dan Carlton (Bass), and Brad Siebert (drums). This was the original Savant lineup. Two years later the Timmerman Brothers brought aboard rocking bassist Mark Marshenke (aka the shark), and Savants second drummer Dave Jacobs.
Joey McCollough (vocals) (aka metaldog) came aboard in 1985 soon after Dave Jacobs replaced Brad on drums and percussion. Brad moved to a position with local band Were Here. This lineup rocked Rocked Tucson something fierce for nearly two years.
A couple years passed and Savant hired new drummer Mark (frosty).
With a competitive and talented lineup complete, Sean, Joel, Mark, Joey, and Mark soon got even tighter while continuing to crank out new and exciting original material. Savant quickly rose to the top in and around Tucson. Playing the clubs and pubs for three years. They played monster parties to while dominating the local battle of the bands competitions.
A few shows are talked about to this day.
The ever so famous Lee Street Massacre 1985 (Thank you Aunt Linda!) was a show that opened many doors for Savant in and around Tucson.
Savant performed at The Tucson Gardens,
The El Casino Ballroom, Shananigans,
and Tucsons own Rocktober Halloween Fest 1987 in the Arizona desert!
Two flatbed semi trucks back to back was the stage.
Incredible sound, lights, and crowd. The show continued into the night!
Hundreds of people showed up in support of our band.
Unbelievable rock solid show!
Savant stuck it out with their original songs until they parted in 1988.
Brad continued to rock with local Tucson band Were Here.
Joey has continued to strengthen his voice and sharpen
his music production and promotion skills.
Sean, Joel, and Mark
formed the band Peace Bomb that Rocked Tucson's club scene in the early 90s.
Sean, Joel and Mark have played non-stop for nearly 3 decades. They are a formidable trio to say the least. For the past 5 years the three have kept busy
on their newest project Johnny SuperSonic with Brad playing drums on occasion in Tucsons clubs and pubs.
With the Resurrection in motion and Savants original members back again, the talk of the town in Tucson and Phoenix is that
Savants back and ready to ROCK you the OLD SCHOOL way!
Our fans are rising to the occasion! THANKS EVERYONE...
The Savant Resurrection is here...
Sean, Joel, Mark, Joey and Brad WILL SEE YOU THERE!!!
Influences: Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Rush, STP, Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Kiss, AIC
Sounds Like: Led Zeppelin/Judas Priest/Iron Maiden/Scorpions! If we could only be so fortunate to sound like any of the above Rock legends we can deal with that! They have been brought up on occasion over the years. Savant sounds like Savant!!! Rock and Roll with lots of heavy. A new release of Pain and Desire is due out in mid August 2009. A classic Savant ballad that really rocks you!!! Songs that you will remember and never forget. Our listed friends have influenced our music careers in one way or another. Savant has a unique, energetic, rockin tempo in all of their songs! The Timmerman brothers are two of the music industries best. Their years of playing guitar together (over 35) have made these two highly revered in Arizona and abroad as steady contenders in the Rock and Roll world. Mark the Shark, a well disciplined bass player for over 30 years has done it all and can do it all. He possesses a wide variety of bass playing styles and techniques. Joeys influential singers and songwriters include Halford, I.Gillan, Dio, K. Meine. He feels as though they have all played a role in shaping his voice. Brads drums and percussion are energetic and have a stylish upbeat tempo and rythym to them. SAVANT sounds like a well rounded kick-ass Rock and Roll band. Old school rock with plenty of power and might. Smoking guitars. thumping bass. thunder drums. and blazing vocals. Back to deliver the goods again. Tucson prepare! THUNDER is coming... Savants music is hard to describe. Powerful! Listen and see...
